National Trainer - Mental Health First Aid National Council for Mental Wellbeing Rio Rancho, New Mexico
In addition to the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training itself, a comprehensive local resource guide for mental health services and support that includes information on local mental health providers, support groups and crisis hotlines; food, housing and transportation sources; and physical health, financial, education, work and legal resources is given to each training attendee. By providing access to this local information, individuals can find the support they need when experiencing mental health challenges. Equipping local communities with this information can also help promote mental health awareness and provide individuals with the necessary tools to support themselves and those around them.
Learning Objectives:
Explore the benefits of integrating MHFA training with a comprehensive local resource guide.
Examine the value of incorporating an additional evidence-based mental health awareness training into the training module offered to the community, free of charge.
Develop an extensive training module containing specialized demographic training materials and supportive information for local communities while being represented by the MHFA Instructors that teach it.
