This session will provide a comprehensive approach to implementing peer-based services within healthcare settings. Participants will gain an understanding of the value of utilizing recovery peer advocates when engaging individuals and families who have been impacted by substance use disorder, knowledge of the process in developing the structure within hospital systems, and examples of the types of community resources needed for individuals and families to rebuild their lives.
Session Topics include: Demonstrating how a CBO/Hospital partnership can effectively address an urgent public health crisis; exemplifying how consistent communication, collaboration, and knowing when to change the model, can lead to success.
