Brigitte D. Johnson, Esq., is a licensed attorney with over 30 years’ experience in the legal field, including health care corporate compliance and privacy. Employed at Care Plus NJ since 1998, she now serves as the President/CEO. Care Plus NJ is a comprehensive mental health, addiction and primary care organization and one of New Jersey’s first original Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) awardees. As a member of the executive management team, she provides input and oversight on major operational decisions of the agency, including finance, budget, employee relations, future expansion, development and compliance. As a member of the Care Plus Board of Trustees’ governance committee, Johnson has led efforts for the development and incorporation of several subsidiary corporations and development of corporate strategies including potential mergers and affiliations. As such, Johnson has served as lead counsel on the establishment of three nonprofit subsidiary corporations of the parent organization Care Plus NJ, Inc., including an approved New Jersey private school for students with emotional disabilities and a stand-alone nonprofit management entity for one of the state’s largest county psychiatric hospitals. She currently serves on the board of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing as chair of the nominating committee. She also serves on the Bergen County Workforce Development board. She is a graduate of Howard University School of Law and a cum laude graduate of Virginia State University.
