Katie Lail supports the Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning for student success by planning and monitoring the program’s budget, assisting in the development, and coordinating program-related conferences, meetings, or workshops. She maintains the daily operations of the program while supporting the needs of the center.
Katie has been with AppState for 3 years and has previously worked with the Institute for Health and Human Services. She moved to Boone with her husband, who is also an AppState Employee as well as an adjunct professor teaching sections in a first-year seminar. Katie and her husband welcomed their first child, a boy, in Feburary, 2023 and enjoy exploring the appalachians with their son and two dogs. Prior to Appalachian State University, Katie lived in Colorado and was in the military for 8 years. She has a background in behavioral health services and is a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid for adults. She also holds an complementing instructors certificate in MHFA for Higher Education.
