T-Kea Blackman, MPS, CPRS, stands as a resilient suicide attempt survivor, having garnered recognition across various domains as a motivational speaker, mental wellness training consultant, author, health communications expert, and certified peer recovery specialist. She serves as the executive director and co-founder of Black People Die By Suicide Too, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding discussions about suicide within the Black community. She is also the co-host and producer of the Black People Die By Suicide Too Podcast.
As the visionary behind the Mental Health Empowerment Agency (MHEA), T-Kea provides comprehensive services in training development, strategic communications, and event coordination, all aimed at nurturing mental wellness in both workplace and community settings. T-Kea is a Mental Health First Aid (Adult and Youth) Instructor, Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Facilitator, and a trained crisis phone counselor.
Among her many accomplishments, T-Kea's impact resonates through her advocacy efforts. She was featured on a billboard in Times Square NYC as part of the “I Am” Campaign with The Quell Foundation. Her contributions were honored with the Program Leader of the Year Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Maryland and recognition as the Peer Specialist of the Year by the Black Mental Health Alliance.
She is a proud alumna of Howard University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in communications and media, and obtained a master's degree from Georgetown University in public relations and corporate communications.
