Valerie Trull holds a Masters of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama. Her past research has focused around sexual deviance, including the areas of sex offenders, child sex abuse material (CSAM), and human trafficking. She is currently the Project Director for the Alabama Workforce Stabilization Program with the VitAL team at UA. Ms. Trull is actively involved in multiple groups working to address juvenile justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is passionate about working towards a more just world, from an individual to a societal level. Ms. Trull has worked at UA in a variety of roles since 2010, and has taught as an adjunct alternating between social work and criminal justice since 2019. She enjoys bringing together issues relevant to both fields.
In her free time, Ms. Trull is a dedicated theatre fan and has recently become more directly involved in the local theatre community, both on stage and off. She has a six year old daughter and husband of 14 years.
