Karina De León M. (she/her/ella) is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Cypress Resilience Project, specializing in the Adult, Youth, and Spanish curricula. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Currently, she is finishing her Master’s degree in Social Work at Columbia University. Karina believes that everyone deserves equitable access to mental health resources, and is passionate about ensuring that community members have the skills to support each other during challenging times. As a first-generation Latina from Oakland, Karina strives to destigmatize mental health challenges while tackling the barriers that exist for many BIPOC communities.
