Ronald K. Zimmet has been a trial lawyer since 1975 and is admitted to the bar in Florida and before the United States Supreme Court. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from Florida State University. Zimmet maintains an active litigation practice with the Zimmet and Zimmet law firm and provides risk management consulting services to behavioral health care agencies nationwide. Zimmet helped organize Mental Health Risk Retention Group, where he has served as general counsel for more than 30 years. The Mental Health Risk Retention Group is an insurance company providing professional, general liability and directors and officers insurance to behavioral health care agencies. Zimmet has lectured on risk management at many National Council for Behavioral Health and Mental Health Corporations of America meetings, as well as through trainings provided by the Mental Health Risk Retention Group. He has been published in Behavioral Healthcare Magazine, the National Council Magazine and the Florida Bar Journal. He was president of the board of directors of a community mental health center in Daytona Beach, Florida and has served on the board of a substance use treatment facility in Daytona Beach.
