Laura Swartzendruber serves as the Director of Medical Outpatient Services for Adult Behavioral Health at My Health My Resources (MHMR) of Tarrant County in Fort Worth, Texas. MHMR of Tarrant County is the second-largest Local Mental Health Authority in Texas and is CCBHC certified.
Originally from Grand Prairie, Texas, Laura is a graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Throughout the past decade of her nursing career, Laura has dedicated herself to MHMR Tarrant County, providing patient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. She has emerged as a valuable member of the nursing leadership team.
Laura has actively contributed to professional development and knowledge-sharing. She has presented at Texas Council, National Council PIPBHC Learning Collaborative, and was invited to speak at the Mental Health Summit by the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Her presentations covered crucial topics such as Care Coordination and Integrated Care within a CCBHC.
In addition to her role at MHMR Tarrant County, Laura has overseen the SAMHSA Promoting Integration of Primary and Behavioral Health Care (PIPBHC) grant for the past four years. In this capacity, she worked diligently to ensure the establishment of comprehensive care for those served.
Beyond her professional commitments, Laura enjoys spending quality time with her three children and family. Her interests include crafting, baking, and attending sports games.
