Kerry Rivard is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with over 25 years of experience as a behavioral health clinician, supervisor, program director, consultant and trainer with a focus on the treatment of adolescents and adults with trauma, personality disorders and persistent mental illness. Kerry specializes in evidence based treatments for a wide range of mental health disorders, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE and DBT-PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT). Kerry has trained and worked in a variety of settings including Program Director of the 3 East DBT Cambridge Residence at McLean hospital, crisis clinician for hospital emergency rooms, Clinical Director and DBT Coordinator for DMH funded Community Mental health program, and has maintained a private practice for the past 15 years.
In her current role as the Director of Evidence Based Treatment for Eliot Community Human Services, Kerry is particularly interested in bridging the gap between evidenced-based treatment and real life clinical care. Overseeing the clinical development for two of the newly launched Community Behavioral Health Programs (CBHC) in Massachusetts, her current focus is on providing gold-standard treatments within the community through the development of clinical services and training of clinical staff, with a unique focus on the implementation of measurement-based care which serves to optimize treatment outcomes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
