Tami Mark is an internationally known expert on behavioral health care financing, services, and quality measurement. She has authored more than 130 scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles and many government reports. Dr. Mark was a contributing author to the report Facing Addiction in America: The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health. She has served on technical expert panels for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), National Quality Forum (NQF), and other organizations. Dr. Mark is an expert in the use of administrative data, such as insurance claims data, for health services and quality improvement research. She has led large projects for SAMHSA, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), state Medicaid agencies, state behavioral health agencies, and behavioral health providers focused on improving behavioral health systems. She is Primary Investigator on a NIDA Healing Community Grant to develop quality measures and improvement strategies for opioid use disorder treatment programs.
