Dr. Sarah Stilwell is a community-focused Research Fellow with the National Center for School Safety at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and Prevention Research Collaborative. In her role, Sarah contributes to school safety evaluation work, implementation efficacy, and positive youth development work that centers human experiences and perspectives. Sarah has extensive experience in community-based program management, implementation, and evaluation. She collaborates with the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation, the Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention, and as a diversity consultant, where Sarah helps guide organizations to center Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in their planning, visioning, and goal setting to intentionally create and sustain cultures of belonging.
In addition to her professional roles and experiences, Sarah is passionate about volunteering in her community. She holds positions as board member for the Dexter Community Orchestra, coach for Girls on the Run, and as literacy mentor for the Center for Success. As a former elementary educator, she brings a unique perspective that aims to bridge both research and practice. Sarah holds two masters degrees, and earned her Ph.D. in Education and Psychology from the University of Michigan.
