Senior Clinical Director
Families and Youth Innovations Plus
Las Cruces, New Mexico
My name is Lisa Noelani Chavez. I currently serve as a Senior Clinical and Programs Director for Families and Youth Innovations Plus , (https://fyiplusnm.org/) a nonprofit Community Behavioral Health Agency in Las Cruces NM. My current role allows me to engage and explore in my passion for serving, helping, teaching and leading others. I believe my greatest professional achievement has been cultivating and leading cultural change in our agency that reflect a practice of courage and vulnerability in the work. I recently assisted the agency in receiving a grant implementation award to become New Mexico's first Certified Community Based Health Clinic. In addition, I have been an adjunct professor and field instructor at New Mexico State University in the school of Social Work teaching and leading aspiring social workers to do what I love for over 12 years. I aspire to continue learning how to lead effectively and grow leaders to their full potential by way of reflective practice. The core area of focus in my practice is in deepening and growing reflective capacity in myself as well as in supervision to my staff and those I serve with an understanding that our personal experiences will always show up and impact the work we do. In my personal life, I am a wife, mother of five and grandmother of four. I am most proud of our blended family, our lived experiences and challenges that we have overcome. I am passionate about leadership, leadership development and the practice of reflective supervision. I strive to ensure our budding leaders have solid skill building training that allow them to push our agencies mission forward.
