Rachel Odes is a psychiatric nurse and health services researcher committed to improving safety for patients and providers in mental health care delivery. Dr. Odes has used mixed methods to evaluate California’s workplace violence prevention legislation and has served as a consultant to federal and statewide agencies in their workplace violence prevention efforts. Her current work employs mixed methods to evaluate novel approaches to mental health care delivery, specifically mobile crisis teams. Her research draws on her decade of clinical experience in the acute psychiatric treatment setting and her advocacy for improvements in the environment of care for mental health. Dr. Odes is an Assistant Professor in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing.
