TP2 - Transformative Crisis Care: A Look at the First 30 Days of a Missouri Crisis Center

Based on needs assessment (Thomlinson, 2021), Compass opened crisis stabilization centers across our region to meet a clearly evident service gap. Here, we describe and evaluate the impact of the first 30 days of our newest crisis center, examining the number of individuals served, average length of stay, nature of presenting concerns, referral sources, payors, outcomes, and estimated cost offsets. Importantly, nearly 80% of presenting crises were stabilized those served during our first month of operation. Taken as a whole, and aligning with previous studies, our first-look results suggest the early impact of our crisis center is quite substantial.
