TP6 - "Our People Matter": The Power of Employee Engagement

Our presentation will aim to address successful retention strategies to combat the growing issue of staff shortages in programs that specialize in mental health and wellbeing by understanding the power of employee engagement. We will focus on the research-based patterns and trends regarding workforce challenges that lead employees to leave an organization and offer strategies for leadership to embrace change, build in opportunities for growth, and make their employees feel seen and heard.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore successful listening practices in programs that specialize in mental health/wellbeing, including but not limited to research-based energy checks and programmatic listening tours to amplify staff voices.
  • Analyze the importance of embracing culture transformation and changing operational practices to ensure employees feel valued to increase the average length of tenure at your organization.
  • Discuss the significance of adapting listening practices due to the constantly evolving work environment to decrease turnover and make you an employer of choice.
