MP34 - Does Improved School Climate Increase School Safety and Reduce School Violence?

The presentation includes results from a systematic review of interventions for improving school climate and reducing school violence in K-12 settings. We begin with an anchoring definition of school climate, which is the quality and characteristics of school life. We are excited to convey the results of this review to NatCon attendees, and provide recommendations for strategies on improving school climate and reducing violence. In addition, we have translated the findings from this review into actionable training tools, which will be discussed and shared as an interactive element.
