Suzanne is a seasoned clinical social worker with a background in the occupational safety and auto industry from a first career as a legal secretary. Her second career in the field of social work was inspired by a positive experience with a clinical social worker who diagnosed a loved one with schizophrenia and was profoundly impactful to the family providing a sense of hope and guidance. Suzanne's clinical expertise is connecting empathically with remarkable ability to utilize systems knowledge for program development. She has broad experience much of it in medical settings including hospice, kidney dialysis, and FQHC primary medical care clinics, in addition to private practice, private adoption, collaborative divorce, and geriatrics. Suzanne's passion for reducing stigma was instrumental in developing a mental health component in FQHC settings, transitioning services to an integrated care model. She holds a Masters degree in social work and most recently was an instructor and field area coordinator for her alma mater, the College of Social Work at Florida State University. Suzanne is self-employed, providing train the trainer workshops for Mental Health First Aid USA since 2016 and teaching a variety of wellness/mental health-related workshops in person and virtually. When not working, she enjoys being a Grammy, teaching stand up paddleboarding lessons, and cheering on the Seminoles and Detroit Lions
