Dr. Kristopher Ian Stevens, a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC), brings over 20 years of experience in community-based mental health settings. His expertise encompasses service design, program implementation and evaluation, research, consultation, and training development. Dr. Stevens focuses on investigating the impacts of risks, social determinants of health, and adverse experiences on behavioral health issues and disparities in care. He collaborates with USC's School of Social Work on a longitudinal study exploring associations between adverse childhood experiences and developmental outcomes. Additionally, Dr. Stevens serves as a co-principal investigator for a cross-cultural longitudinal research study on the impacts of adverse childhood experiences on Kenyan youth's development in collaboration with Azusa Pacific University. He has authored several peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters in these areas.
Currently, as the Director of Data Analytics and Innovation at Pacific Clinics (PC), Dr. Stevens serves as the organization's head data scientist. He works closely with executive leadership to drive initiatives that enhance sustainability, inform strategic decision-making, and identify growth opportunities. Furthermore, Dr. Stevens trains pre-doctoral psychology students as part of PC’s American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship program, empowering them to conduct value-driven research within community-based behavioral health organizations. His subject matter expertise spans research methods, advanced data analytics, data communication, and various computer programming languages and systems essential for effective data utilization.
Dr. Stevens's commitment to data-driven decision-making extends to his role on the Board of Directors for the Pasadena Senior Center (PSC) in Pasadena, California. His involvement began as a consultant, but he was driven by the center's vision and mission, prompting him to deepen his engagement. Through his contributions, he supports the PSC in utilizing data for day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning.
With his extensive experience, expertise, and dedication, Dr. Kristopher Ian Stevens is poised to make a significant impact in advancing mental health research, service delivery, and data-driven decision-making in the pursuit of improved outcomes for individuals, organizations, and communities.
