Mimi Castro
Certified as both a Youth & Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Mimi oversees Mental Health First Aid Oklahoma, a statewide program at DCCCA, providing MHFA trainings to Oklahomans at no cost. Before coming to nonprofit agency DCCCA, Mimi interned with the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits and lived in several different states across the US while working in the hospitality industry. She is deeply passionate about suicide and substance use prevention, as well as destigmatizing mental health & substance use challenges to work towards creating accessibility to better mental wellbeing for all Oklahomans. In her personal time, she is passionate about fiber arts, nature, and her handsome cat Popoki 2.
Lisa Harper
Lisa Harper serves as the Director of Oklahoma Community Initiatives for DCCCA providing strategic direction and oversight to programming including Mental Health First Aid, youth traffic safety and drug overdose prevention education. She has worked in the field of prevention for 7 years and has worked in the nonprofit sector for 11 years with experience in providing mental health and suicide prevention training, serving low-income individuals, community relations, substance use prevention, and grant writing. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and is a certified instructor for Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid. Her prevention work at DCCCA includes teaching Mental Health First Aid, managing the OK County Substance Use Prevention Alliance, providing training on the safe use, safe storage, and safe disposal of opioids, and teaching the community on how to administer Naloxone. Utilizing data to understand community needs, interpret progress, and determine program strategy is an integral part of her work in prevention. Lisa is passionate about creating change in her community by providing education and resources that allow people to improve their own lives and the lives of others.
