Dr. Aceves has been in the mental health field for over 20 years working with children, adolescents, and adults. She earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a Pre-school–12 emphasis (California State University Fullerton) and a doctorate in Social Work (University of Southern California). Dr. Aceves has worked with individuals who have mental health conditions, genetic disorders and experienced trauma. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with more than 10 years’ experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Her expertise includes early intervention, caretaker integration, family systems and interdisciplinary collaboration with educational and health care systems through a cross-cultural lens. Dr. Aceves’ focus is to help clients reach independence and social integration, and to teach the members of their support systems sustainable practices for interacting with them more effectively. Her previous experience includes working with children in orphanages who have behavioral deficits, substance abuse and outreach to housing insecure and geriatric populations.
