Deborah Scharf, PhD (University of Pittsburgh, 2009) is a clinical and health psychologist and an Associate Professor of Psychology at Lakehead University, with additional appointments in Health Sciences and the Centre for Enhancing and Preventing Injury and Disability at Work (EPID@Work). Dr. Scharf researches behavioral health services, systems, finance, and policy, and includes studies of integrated primary and behavioral healthcare; cancer multimorbidity; tobacco and cannabis treatment and control policy; behavioral health crisis response; services military, veterans, and other injured workers; and innovations in real-time electronic data capture for research and health. In a previous role as a Behavioral Scientist at the RAND Corporation, Dr. Scharf led the first evaluation of the PBHCI grants program and participated in the development of the current CCBHC model of care. Dr. Scharf is privileged to share this experience, plus that of her active clinical practice, with the National Council in a consulting role since 2010.
