Sarah Spain is from Albuquerque, New Mexico where she serves as the Transition Planning Services Manager with Bernalillo County. Ms. Spain received a Master in Public Health and a Master in Social Work in 2023 from New Mexico State University. Ms. Spain has worked with Bernalillo County for five and a half years focusing her career and education working with people involved in the criminal justice system, diagnosed with mental health disorders, and with substance abuse disorders.She now manages the Resource Re-entry Center, a program to provide services to individuals immediately when they are released from the County jail. Ms. Spain participates as a member on the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, Diversion and Re-entry Subcommitee. She is focused on decreasing recidivism, providing harm reduction services, and enhancing the overall system of behavioral health care in Bernalillo County.
