Dr. Pavan Somusetty is a psychiatrist specializing in suicide prevention and the Chief of Mental Health for Northwest Permanente (Portland, Oregon and southwest Washington). As one of the leaders for suicide prevention in Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Somusetty works closely with all its regions to raise the national standard for suicide care. He is a passionate advocate for the Zero Suicide movement and has advised Kaiser Permanente’s Task Force on Firearm Injury Prevention on strategies for suicide prevention, including safe firearm storage. Dr. Somusetty trained at Wright State University and is board certified in psychiatry with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
