YouthLine Assistant Director of Clinical Operations
Angie Nielsen is part of the Crisis Lines Team for Lines for Life, a statewide nonprofit providing education and 24/7/365 crisis intervention services. As the YouthLine Assistant Director of Clinical Operations, Angie works with YouthLine's Portland, Oregon site that provides peer-to-peer support, help, and crisis line for youth. Angie has over nine years of experience in crisis intervention, youth development, and supervision. Angie is certified in ASIST, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and safeTalk. She is also an AAS Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist and an ASIST Provisional Trainer.
Angie is the program manager for YouthLine’s Safe Social Spaces Project. Connecting with youth over social media apps, Safe Social Spaces focuses on prevention of self-harm and suicide by offering resources, care, and support.
Angie received her Master of Science degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida, her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from George Fox University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work from Washington State University. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Prevention Science from Washington State University.
