Janet Romero is the Mental Health VP of Operations for Step By Step, Inc.(PA) where she has worked since 1996. Previously she worked with adolescents in a variety of residential settings in Wyoming, Maryland and Pennsylvania. She is passionate about developing teams and continual growth to impact the quality of services. She has prioritized equipping her teams to be trauma-informed, resilience-oriented, and equity-focused (TRE) for their own self-care as well as for services. Thinking of non-traditional and creative ways to share information is Personal Medicine for Ms. Romero. Currently, she is the Lead Team Member for the Agency's TRE transformation. She works regularly with state and federal elected officials as well as state and federal associations and committees to influence policies on services, to expand the use of trauma-informed principles and to address issues related to equity and social justice. Ms. Romero has a Master’s in Counseling Psychology: Marital & Family, as well as being certified through Lakeside Global Institute as a Trauma Competent Professional, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) and Certified Personal Medicine Coach (CMPC)
