Preventing compassion fatigue and secondary trauma are an important part of wellness and in being trauma-informed. When we share all of the specific and sordid details in the re-telling of our day and our clients' experiences, to others, not only are we actively engaging in the traumatic material again, but we are also passing that traumatic material along to those we tell.
