Treating people with opioid use disorder has been complicated by the use of fentanyl and increasingly, the presence of the animal tranquilizer xylazine. New and modified strategies have evolved to manage withdrawal symptoms and induction onto life saving medications for opioid use disorder. The audience will leave with practical tips and sound strategies to help treat people with opioid use disorder in their communities.

Decribe at least one way fentanyl and other highly potent synthetic opioid impact medication treatment for opioid use disorder
Decribe at least one way xylazine impacts medication treatment for opioid use disorder
Name one strategy for induction when someone has been using opioids laced with xylazine
