Research literature has struggled with defining and measuring resilience from a bio-psycho-social perspective and service systems struggle to develop strategies to support and build resilience as part of their guiding philosophy and concrete interventions. This workshop is designed to increase one’s understanding of resilience as a concept with significant and practical implications for programs providing behavioral and other health related services. Furthermore, a recently developed resiliency focused curriculum based program will illustrated how the principles and practices of resilience building strategies can be brought to life!
Learning Objectives:
Identify the most important individual and environmental protective factors that define and support resiliency.
Describe the 5 key evidence-based components of a resiliency building program.
Discuss 3 organization level approaches to integrating resiliency supporting principles into day to day practices.
