Chief Operating Officer Institute for Community Living, Inc Manhattan, New York
New York’s housing launchpad is the first of its kind. People come directly off the street, are treated with dignity and respect, and housed within 30 days! Supported by the New York State Office of Mental Health, efforts to replicate this new model are already underway. This program was created to expedite placement for people that have been chronically street homeless that are struggling with their health. Join this panel to learn what makes this program unique and successful. This workshop will discuss the importance of integrating supports to ensure independence and success for people formerly unhoused, living in the community.
Learning Objectives:
Identify various supports that can be incorporated in a person’s recovery plan to increase housing retention.
Attendees will identify ways of implementing this model in their current settings
Analyze existing approaches and review ways to overcome systemic barriers.
