The YMCA’s Mental Health Community Care (MHCC) model recognizes that everyone can support mental health and it is designed to empower individuals to provide informal, community-based mental health support and promote mental well-being. It demonstrates how informal community-based support and formal clinical services can work together. The MHCC model supports Y staff to recognize signs of mental distress, provide support, and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
