TP25 - Behavioral Health Homes Associated with Increased Breast Cancer and Diabetes Screening

The Connecticut Behavioral Health Home (BHH) is a “whole person” approach which includes comprehensive assessments, person-centered recovery plans, interventions, health promotion, and services addressing behavioral health, physical, social, and financial needs. The approach is supported by the Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership. In this poster we show how HUSKY Health members with a serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) enrolled in BHH were more likely to utilize preventative care than their peers who were not enrolled. We focused on mammogram screening and HbA1C testing. Our findings emphasize the importance of a collaborative approach between behavioral and physical health care providers.
