Opioid overdoses continue to be an ongoing public health crisis. To share vital education for Opioid Overdose Prevention, Recognition, Response, and Naloxone Rescue with a larger audience, we strategically developed avenues for wide-scale dissemination targeting community members and employees.
We created easily accessible asynchronous online training modules that included educational videos, surveys, resources, and help-line numbers. Naloxone rescue kits were provided at no cost and made available for pickup at different locations.
Our strategies allowed for wider dissemination and broader sustainability of our naloxone saturation campaign and overdose prevention strategies.
Learning Objectives:
Identify opportunities and mechanisms for delivering overdose prevention or community health education
Examine the impact of expanding access to education across time and geography to delivering community overdose prevention education in different settings
Reflect on opportunities within your own organization and programming to use online training or a “train-the-trainer” model to expand high-impact services
