Georgia’s Clubhouses aim to provide a safe, creative, out-of-school learning community and engage young people - many of whom may have been alienated by traditional support systems - to work with adult mentors and develop skills. This presentation will describe how a state mental health authority has designed and implemented this innovative resiliency – based community clubhouse model to build coping, decision making, and life skills for children and adolescents across the continuum of behavioral health services in Georgia. Additionally, the presentation will provide attendees with staffing designs, best practices, and implementation lessons learned to support program sustainability and scalability.
Learning Objectives:
Define the Clubhouse model for youth including identifying its core constructs and staffing designs
Demonstrate how the Clubhouse model can be adapted to support prevention, treatment and recovery services for youth and young adults in the areas of substance use and mental health.
Discuss best practices and implementation lessons learned to support program sustainability and scalability.
