TP15 - Does Telehealth Really Tele-help? Data-informed Strategy to Improve Health Outcomes for Individuals With Comorbid SMI and Chronic Medical Conditions

Digital health technology has emerged as a disruptive force across the behavioral health landscape. Accompanied by the rise of mental health as a public priority, telehealth is broadly credited with improving access to care. But for individuals with SMI and medical comorbidities, does remote care lead to improved outcomes? Have we found the right balance between convenience and personal connection? Through an examination of one CCBHC’s expansion of telehealth and remote patient monitoring devices, we will explore the apparent strengths and possible shortcomings of telehealth and its role in achieving improved outcomes for individuals receiving integrated care.
