MP29 - An Innovative Approach to Peer Support

We will be presenting on the SummitStone Health Partners innovative Peer Services program. This program includes 36 peers and 47 Peer Positions, embedded in 25 different teams. We have navigated implementing co-supervision with clinical teams and train our Peers in Intentional Peer Support, which is a COPA (Colorado Providers Association) recognized training for certification. We are proud to demonstrate an innovative practice of supervision as a program that is managed fully by Peer workers. We will inform attendees on IPS practices and will also be available as a resource to CMHCs that are seeking to establish Peer Support services.

Learning Objectives:

  • · To demonstrate an innovative practice of supervision as a program run and managed by Peers
  • Inform attendees on Intentional Peer Support practices.
  • · Be available as a resource to other CMHC’s establishing Peer Support programs
  • Inform attendees on practices of co-supervision between administrative peer leadership and clinical leadership.
  • Inform attendees on the development of multi-faceted Peer Specialist roles and the expansion of Peer Support services within CMHCs.
