The mental health needs of people who live in rural areas are not very different from people in urban areas. The challenge is to make crisis services accessible. By creating a continuum of crisis services and partnering with other community services you can fill gaps and help consumers access the mental health services they need. A no wrong door approach is essential, the last thing our consumers need to hear is "we can't help you." Making the most of the resources you have available can make a difference to those we serve in our rural communities.
