B13 - Supervising Peer Support Specialists in Changing Times

The peer support services landscape is changing with the expansion of peer support into Medicare and into new settings, and with the recognition of the value of peer support workers assuming supervisory roles. Effective supervision is critical to the success of peer support workers and the sustainability and growth of the workforce. This workshop will engage participants in examining systemic and practical barriers to supervision and provide tangible tools to successfully navigate supervision in their agencies. The ideal audience is program administrators, as well as licensed clinicians, clinical psychologists, and physicians, given their role in supervising Medicaid and Medicare services.
