D1 - A Peer-supported Substance Use Disorder Program to Impact Maternal and Neonatal Health Outcomes

People of childbearing age with Opioid Use Disorders (OUD) can be particularly vulnerable. Up to 86% of pregnancies among this population can be unplanned, with elevated risks of long-term negative health outcomes. There is an urgent need to expand access to care for OUD treatment. This workshop presents an integrated whole-health program that aims to support and empower people of childbearing age with OUD through non-clinical peer support. Program components include earlier identification, outreach, engagement, digitally enabled peer support, and case management, using a whole health approach. Finally, we outline the clinical, operational and financial outcomes of the program.
