C14 - 24/7 Emergency Virtual MAT Access With Expedited Linkage to Treatment in a Regional Approach

The WNY 24/7 Virtual MAT Center expands and enhances access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). Its objectives are to 1) implement and sustain 24/7 telehealth MAT access for eight counties in New York; 2) integrate addiction treatment organizations and link patients to their choice organization; and 3) report metrics, MAT prescriptions and demographics. The eight counties for the development/success include metropolitan, suburban and poor rural areas. The center provides quality assessment and initiation of MAT through e-prescribing and linkage to outpatient treatment. With data revealing 1,173 calls, 773 individuals and 967 prescriptions to 694 individuals, the increased utilization indicates a need for 24/7 rapid access MAT telehealth programs.
