The field of Psychedelic Medicine has gained significant popular and scientific attention over the past 3-4 years. This attention is primarily focused on the use of these substances for behavioral health disorders and for wellbeing. This presentation will provide a review of the psychedelic substances and how they impact the brain and behavior. Psilocybin, MDMA, and ketamine will be discussed as new research is showing positive impacts on various mental health and substance use disorders. Current regulatory issues and challenges will be discussed from the perspective of practicing clinicians.
